Week 30

Week Thirty: March 7 - 13, 2009
Weeks left until Baby Bodkin's due date: 10

The word of this week was TIRED! I still can't complain, but I have noticed that I have less energy then I have had in the past. I even had to take a Dr. Bodkin prescribed day off. I don't know if it was from the working out or what, but I was completely worn out on Thursday. I ended up staying on the couch all day, and it was really nice not to move! However, by Friday I was feeling a lot better. It's amazing what a day of rest can do :)

Also this week, I had my first big contraction. I was driving home, and I felt a strong aching/pressure pain in my back and then it wrapped around to my tummy. I have felt contractions before, but they were never like this one. The ones I get on a daily basis are only in the front and are very mild. This one actually caused me to pull over! It made me a little nervous because from what I have read Braxton Hicks contractions are only in front, but there was only one so I guess it was just a fluke! Baby Bodkin has to wait a few more weeks at least until he/she can come!
Here are a few pics from the week...

Not much change from last week :)
My line is definitely in...

Baby Development Notes
Baby Bodkin is about 15.7 inches long now, and weighs almost 3 pounds (like the head of cabbage below). A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds the baby, but that volume will decrease as the baby gets bigger and takes up more room in the uterus. His/her eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after Baby Bodkin is born, the eyes will stay closed for a good part of the day. When he/she does open them, Baby Bodkin will respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision — which means he/she can only make out objects a few inches from his/her face. (Normal adult vision is 20/20.)
