Week 33

Week Thirty-Three: March 28 - April 3, 2009
Weeks left until Baby Bodkin's due date: 7

One month to go! This is what I am doing to prepare for your arrival...

Well, my parents are still here visiting, so my preparation for Baby B's arrival hasn't been too involved. Daddy and I plan on finalizing everything as soon as my Dad goes back to the states. This week (and last) is just for relaxing and spending time with family. Although I am becoming less and less mobile, we took Mom and Dad on a few adventures while they were here. Here are a few pictures from the week.

Baby Development Notes:

This week Baby Bodkin weighs a little over 4 pounds (heft a pineapple) and has passed the 17-inch mark. She's/He's rapidly losing that wrinkled, alien look and the skeleton is hardening. The bones in the skull aren't fused together, which allows them to move and slightly overlap, thus making it easier for Baby B to fit through the birth canal. (The pressure on the head during birth is so intense that many babies are born with a conehead-like appearance.) These bones don't entirely fuse until early adulthood, so they can grow as the brain and other tissue expands during infancy and childhood.
