Weeks left until Baby Bodkin's due date: 13
HAPPY
VALENTINE'S DAY!
VALENTINE'S DAY!
Eric and I went out to dinner on Valentine's Day to Travesso, our favorite Brazilian BBQ restaurant in the area. Below is a picture from that night...

Right now my husband/partner is feeling a little:
___ overwhelmed
___ overprotective
___ left out
_x_ ecstatic
___ all of the above
If I had to use one word to describe Eric's feelings towards Baby Bodkin's arrival, I would have to say anxious (in a good way)! He says, "I want the baby to come as soon as it is healthy for him/her to come". He would love for the baby to born yesterday if it was healthy and ready. In other words, "ecstatic" is the perfect word to describe his feelings, and I feel truly blessed that he feels this way!
Also, I think that he has noticed my increased discomfort and lack of mobility lately because he has been great about offering to do things around the house. I really do appreciate his sensitivity and understanding! In fact, my book's "Dad Tip" of the week says, "Offer to do chores that may be more difficult to your partner now". That's funny! Maybe he has been reading my book... doubtful! I'm sure it is just a funny coincidence!
There really isn't much belly news to report this week. I am feeling about the same as I have been feeling for the past few weeks. I am however having increased difficulty getting comfortable. Like I have said before, sleeping and resting on the couch are not very enjoyable anymore. Also, I have been having some crazy dreams. My baby book goes into detail about what your dreams may mean. I am not sure if I believe what it says in the book, but I have definitely noticed that I remember my dreams more and they are intense!

I am absolutely loving our new camera. Here are a few pictures that I took of myself this week. I had just woken up (I'm still in bed) and decided to play :)
Baby Development Notes:
This week, Baby Bodkin weighs almost 2 pounds (like the head of cauliflower below) and is about 14 1/2 inches long with the legs extended. He/she's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing the eyes, and perhaps even sucking the fingers. With more brain tissue developing, Baby Bodkin's brain is very active now. While the lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if he/she were to be born now. Any tiny rhythmic movements that I am feeling are most likely a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and they don't bother the baby.
