Week 35

Week Thirty-Five : April 11 - 17, 2009
Weeks left until Baby Bodkin's due date: 5

People say that my belly looks:
_x_ less pregnant than it actually is
___ right on target
_x_ like it's ready to pop

I really get both! The majority of the time people tell me that I look like I am going to pop! I am very round and big :) However, some people tell me that I don't look that big, but I don't know what they are talking about! I think my stature might provide an optical illusion in both directions... I think it also depends on what I am wearing!

Anyway, this week I experienced much more muscle fatigue in my legs. I am still trying to work out on a daily basis, but I think I overdid it early in the week. After working out, walking the dogs to and from the dog park and running errands, I couldn't move! I literally had to put my feet up and not walk because they were so achy and swollen. I was a little worried at first because they say that dramatic swelling can be a sign of a blood clot, but it was in both legs and the swelling went down within the night. I just need to remember that I am nine months pregnant, and I can't do as much as I am used to doing :)

Also this week, I have been experiencing additional cramping. I don't think that it is anything at all, but I can definitely feel things changing... besides the obvious dropping!!!

I tried to take pictures this week like I took a few weeks back, but I noticed that it was a bit more difficult! I can no longer sit Indian style on the bed because my belly gets in the way. Enjoy...

Baby Development Notes:

Baby Bodkin doesn't have much room to maneuver now that she's/he's over 18 inches long and tips the scales at 5 1/4 pounds (pick up a honeydew melon). Because it's so snug in the womb, Baby B isn't likely to be doing somersaults anymore, but the number of kicks should remain about the same. The kidneys are fully developed now, and the liver can process some waste products. Most of the basic physical development is now complete — Baby Bodkin will spend the next few weeks putting on weight.
